Introducing the Project Molecule: a self-sufficient team for every project.
A team sized for your project, covering every function it needs, working from one system of record. How we staff project management, and why it is built that way.
Owners rarely need more people on a project. They need the right few, each with a clear job, all looking at the same numbers. That is the idea behind the Project Molecule: a self-sufficient Executrek team, drawn from our whole organization and dedicated to your project with full accountability to deliver.
Who is in it
The size and mix change with the industry and the project; the functions stay the same. Project management leads the team and keeps the goals on target. Project engineering runs the analysis and the weekly report, aided by Ontrek PM. Construction management and the field team verify installed quantities independently and coordinate contractors, engineering and operations with minimal impact on the plant. Estimating, scheduling, cost and change-management support give the project manager an instant picture, without drawing on the owner’s already busy teams.
How it works
Contractors report two values: installed quantity and actual hours. The field team verifies them on site every week. Everything else (percent complete, productivity, the forecast at completion and the amount approved for invoicing) is calculated from those two verified values in Ontrek PM, our project controls software. The project engineer turns that into the weekly report; the senior project manager brings the decisions and the forecast to the owner.
Why it works
Because every number starts from progress someone has seen. When each Molecule measures its project the same way, an owner with several projects gets one comparable picture of the whole portfolio, and drift shows up in hours and dollars months before it reaches the finish date.
What it means for owners
One team per project, a weekly forecast you can trust, and no surprises at closeout. If you would like to see how a Molecule would be set up on your project, call us or write to us.
