A four-year schedule, replanned to protect a federal grant
On a $100M+ wet-weather treatment contract, the owner’s federal grant reimbursed only the work in place by a deadline. Executrek replanned the four-year schedule to move as much work as possible ahead of it.

The project
The owner’s federal grant reimbursed work completed by a fixed date. On the original plan, too much of the work fell after it.
What we did
As resident project representative and project controls lead, Executrek replanned the high-level work approach to move as much work as possible ahead of the deadline, put earned value on the contract and tracked the spending target every week.
How we handled it
Pulling work forward on a live treatment plant means re-sequencing around operations, tie-ins and contractor capacity. The replan was built from the field up and checked every week against verified progress.
Results
- Four-year schedule improved by 15%
- On track to use the full $80M federal grant
- Earned value in place on the contract
