Crawler crane setting a new flare stack beside a refinery pipe rack

The project

New piping and a flare system to tie process relief valve discharges into a managed closed system.

What we did

Civil, mechanical, structural and electrical work with vessel modifications, vessel setting and two new flares, multiple tie-ins and critical lifts. 105 relief valves across 33 services were connected into a header and flare system, with the work done across several turnarounds.

How we handled it

Earned value tracked productivity, forecast cost and checked the schedule. Continuous review of the construction contracting strategy and rigorous change management held the schedule through unforeseen conditions and engineering complications.

Results
